Dean Gordon
I started playing guitar at the age of fourteen and in short time began reading about building and repairing the instruments. Within the first year of tinkering I made my first guitar and began to pursue knowledge in luthiery more aggressively. At sixteen years old I had apprenticeships with Victor Baker and Roger Sadowsky. These apprenticeships inspired me to take my new born skill to an entirely new level.
At eighteen years old I designed and built the very first Dean Gordon Guitar and launched Dean Gordon Guitars on June 7th, 2012. During this time I have become the head repair tech at the legendary Chelsea Guitars, Each day at Chelsea brings me knowledge of guitars vintage, new and rare alike this allows me to further hone my skill and meet people who share the same passion I have with guitars. Early Fenders and Gibsons to Gittlers and Sardonyx to the latest custom shop guitars from various names in the industry I have likely seen it at Chelsea Guitars. My goal is not just to make a guitar that looks different but one that holds all the tradition and feel of the classics with a modern and sculpted twist.
